WATTMORE Solar is a group of experienced professionals who believe in the proliferation and benefits of solar energy. We have a vision of solar being affordable and accessible for everyone. The dream of solar panels being installed on every roof in Colorado continues to drive and motivate us after all these years. Our roots are borne in the commercial solar panel industry having installed thousands of solar panels across the Denver metro area. Now, we are taking our success and knowledge gained from the commercial solar panel industry and applying them to the residential market; all in an effort to bring you, our customer a product you will be proud of owning.
NABCEP
As the only certification organization in the industry with an enforceable code of ethics, NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) provides solar panel customers with a way to hold unethical installers accountable for their actions in a way that no other association or membership organization can. Solar panel customers who wisely hire a NABCEP Board Certified Professional can rest assured that any reported violation will be thoroughly investigated and if wrongdoing occurred, disciplinary action will be taken.
WARRANTY
WATTMORE Solar takes the time to design, engineer, and install your solar panel system with care. Because of this, we offer a 10 year workmanship warranty on every solar panel and battery storage system we design, engineer and install.
LICENSED
WATTMORE Solar utilizes state licensed Journeyman and Master electricians on every solar panel and battery storage system installation. It's that simple; training, certification and state licensing means your solar panel and battery storage installation will be installed and operate correctly.

JW Postal
Founder & CEO
J.W. has been a driving force behind multiple innovative companies in the renewable energy industry. He founded Nikola Power (now WATTMORE) and led the formation of the company through its seed round while positioning it for future growth and success. He was also the co-founder of Main Street Power, a pioneer in the distributed generation power purchase agreement space and an innovator in clean energy finance. While at Main Street Power, J.W. spearheaded the first combined New Market and Investment Tax Credit portfolio in the country. J.W. has also served as an executive, Chief Development Officer, and Chief Operating Officer with Milender White Construction, SunShare, and Clean Energy Collective respectively.
J.W. is a leader in clean energy in Colorado and across the county. He has worked on trailblazing legislation for distributed solar, community solar, and renewable energy finance and has traveled the country developing solar projects in AZ, CA, CO, MA, MN, NJ, NM, SC, and TX. He has been a frequent speaker at industry events around the nation for topics such as clean energy finance, community solar, and now solar + storage and entrepreneurship.
J.W. is a graduate of the University of Colorado and has a Masters in Public Policy degree from Georgetown University. He is married to his college sweetheart, Jennifer, and they have three amazing kids – Carly, Jackson, and Calvin. J.W. is active in Colorado politics, non-profits, and community work. He currently serves on the board of the Colorado Solar & Storage Association (COSSA), Solar Electric Light Fund (www.SELF.org), Conservation Colorado, and is the 2018 co-chair of the Denver Public School Foundation Gala with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, cycling, fiction writing, and coaching youth baseball.
Matt Hosking
Senior Director, Operations
Matt oversees all of the residential and commercial solar projects for WATTMORE Solar.
Matt holds a Bachelors degree in Biology from Grand Valley State and an Associate degree in Solar Energy Technologies from the Ecotech Institute.
Additionally, since 2014, he has held the solar industry’s most prestigious certification; he is a NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certified PV(Photovoltaic) Installation Professional.
Matt has been serving the Colorado residential solar industry having participated in or overseen 100’s of installations and projects since 2012.
In Matt's downtime he enjoys fly fishing, backpacking, spending time outdoors and spending time with his family.
Qiao Li
Senior Engineer
Qiao is currently a PhD candidate in Mathematics from the University of Denver and also holds a doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
He received his B.Eng degree in automation engineering from Guizhou University, receiving an Outstanding Bachelor’s Thesis Award, and his M.Eng in control theory and control engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA).
In graduate school, Qiao specialized in research for micro Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Battery Management Systems (BMS).

SOLAR + STORAGE 101
Solar Panels
The solar panels capture the "sun" and produce DC (Direct Current) electricity. We typically use all black solar panels for maximum aesthetic value.
Micro Inverters
one or two solar panels connect to each micro-inverter, which are mounted on the roof underneath the solar panels. Micro-inverters convert DC solar energy to usable AC home energy.
Solar Panel Mounting
The mounting system or racking system is the "foundation" of the solar panel installation. The racking system will get screwed to the roof joists with those screws getting "flashed" or waterproofed and than the solar panels mount to the racking.
Battery Storage
Adding batteries to your solar system gives you peace of mind that your home will continue to receive power when the local utility "goes out", i.e. a grid outage occurs. Additionally, use those solar batteries to offset expensive time-of-use (TOU) utility costs.

Net-Meter
